Time is the Perfect Ingredient for Mother’s Day

tea time

Give your mum the gift of time this Mother’s Day.

Mums with adult children especially appreciate a treat that involves spending time together, according to Heidi Kettle, marketing manager for the James’ Places group of hospitality businesses.

“Going out for afternoon tea or Sunday lunch with all the family is the ultimate Mother’s Day treat for most mums,” said Heidi, “so make sure it’s somewhere special where she’ll feel a bit pampered and fussed.

“We’re finding that afternoon teas served with champagne have become particularly popular with people who want to add a real sense of occasion to the treat. Sunday lunch also continues to be a firm favourite for getting together. “

The most popular thing on the afternoon tea is scones, jam and cream. They are still a firm favourite according to Heidi.

Meanwhile, the favourite Sunday lunch dish for most is a roast and all the trimmings, but that is by no means all that is on offer.

Sunday lunches and afternoon teas are served at Falcon Manor, Settle and The Royal Hotel at Kirkby Lonsdale, plus at other venues across the James’ Places hospitality group.

Heidi added: “Sunday lunch and afternoon tea aren’t just for Mother’s Day either. If you can’t be together on the big day why not send a Gift Voucher and arrange a later date to enjoy a little time together?

“Our venues have something for every mum.”

Afternoon teas are available at Falcon Manor, Settle, and Mitton Hall, Mitton, near Whalley for £17.50 per person or £23 per person with a glass of champagne. Afternoon tea at The Royal Hotel, Kirkby Lonsdale, costs £12.50 per person. A two course Sunday lunch ranges from £16.95 per person.

Falcon Manor and The Royal Hotel are part of the James’ Places group of hotels, inns, interior design and hospitality businesses across the Ribble Valley, Yorkshire Dales and South Lakes, all different yet sharing the same service values and ethos.
