 West Berks

Importance of key infrastructure
The Chamber has written to Lord Adonis following his call for “the Government to ensure that Brexit and a hung parliament do not delay or defer infrastructure projects which are critical to the UK’s competitiveness and productivity” and to “press ahead rapidly with key infrastructure plans.” Whilst the sentiments and contents are welcome TVCC CEO Paul Britton has stressed the “importance of key infrastructure remaining a critical priority in the region – most notably the Western Rail Link to Heathrow (WRLtH).” Furthermore, stressing that the UK cannot “afford infrastructure barriers to the free movement of businesses and goods.” If you have views, now would be a good time for your business to get involved with the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Our Superb Playing Fields
In the Northwest corner of Thatcham is probably one of the best sports facilities in Berkshire! Henwick Worthy Sports Ground adjacent to the A4, has in the upper section Tennis & Netball courts and floodlit artificial pitch for Hockey – which it is hoped will be expanded.  In the lower expense is a large open area for over a dozen Rugby/Football Pitches to be laid out. In the summer this can be used for Cricket and the immensely successful Family Fun  Day and Rotary Car Show .  In the mid section are extensive changing rooms with showers, and parking now available for about 190 cars and soon to open is a NEW BMX/skateboard park which will be the second in Thatcham.  This a vital hub for the health of all the district.
