Leading Berkshire developer, David Wilson Homes Southern, will be on-hand this weekend at the Government-backed Help to Buy Home Show in Reading to showcase a prestigious collection of homes available across the county.
The Rivermead Leisure Complex in Reading will play host this weekend (Saturday 23rd September) to the popular event hosted by Help to Buy South and David Wilson Homes will be among those advising house hunters how to get on or up the property ladder in the area.
New figures recently released by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) revealed that a total of 1,982 homebuyers in Berkshire have used the Help to Buy scheme since it was launched four years ago.
Within the county, the districts which made the best use of the scheme were Wokingham (695), Slough (357) and Reading (235). More than 85% of those using the scheme have been first-time buyers, with 1,694 homes being bought by ‘first timers’ in the area using Help to Buy.
Rob Allen, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “Help to Buy is a brilliant scheme and we are delighted to be exhibiting at this event.
“The initiative has proved so helpful to so many homebuyers and we would encourage anyone looking to buy a home with lower upfront costs to attend the event and find out more.
“We have a range of developments and properties in the area and are looking forward to showing visitors what’s on offer and how we can help them make a move to a brand new home.”
The popular Help to Buy scheme is open to both first time buyers and existing homeowners. There is no income cap for applicants and you can buy a new-build property with a value of up to £600,000. The scheme helps you to buy a home with an equity loan of up to 20% of the full price of the property and just a 5% deposit. You won’t have to pay any interest charges on this loan for the first five years and you own 100% of your own home from the start.
David Wilson Homes is currently building high quality homes in the area at the following developments: Croft Gardens in Reading, Montague Park in Wokingham, Newbury Racecourse and The Chase @ Newbury Racecourse in Newbury.
