Sainsbury’s Newbury raises £1,219 for local charities

Sainsbury’s Newbury has raised £1219 for 3 different local charities. Volunteers from PALS, and the local branches of Guide Dogs for the Blind and Parkinsons UK were in store at the weekend holding collections, to help raise funds for good causes in the West Berkshire area. On Friday 6th October , PALS, raised £240. The charity, which provides activities for children and young people aged from 5 to 25 with a physical disability, is the Newbury supermarket’s Local Charity of the Year. Volunteers from Parkinson’s UK Nebwury and District Branch were in store on Saturday 7th October and raised £604. The weekend of fundraising was rounded off on Sunday 8th October when volunteers from Guide Dogs for the Blind raised £375.   Rich Morris, Store Manager at Sainsbury’s Newbury, said: “We would like to thank our customers for helping to raise £1219 for the 3 charities. “We really enjoyed welcoming all of the volunteers into the store over the weekend and we hope our support will really make a difference to each of the charities.”   Helen Randall, PALS Manager, added: “It was great to spend some time at Sainsbury’s Newbury over the weekend meeting the customers and colleagues.
