Home and Live In Care providers, Bluebird Care Hook & Kingsclere and Bluebird Care Newbury, are launching their new Bluebird Care Hub to provide information and resources relating to adult social care as well as offering space and resources for charities and local organisations working with and on behalf of older people. Based on the ground floor of their new offices in Kingsclere, this new facility will provide a range of literature from care service providers and charities giving information about the products and services that are available to people looking for care and support for a loved one.
In addition, local charities and groups will also be able to use the onsite training facilities including a suite of moving and positioning equipment and book space for client and staff meetings. The Hub includes a quiet break out area, a kitchen and disabled facilities.
The Bluebird Care Hub will be officially opened by local MP Kit Malthouse on Friday 9th March at 4pm.
Navigating the complexities of the care system is not an easy task, especially when most people’s first experience of needing to arrange care is when there is an immediate need due to some form of crisis at home. Members of the public will be able to drop in to the Bluebird Care Hub for advice and support on a range of issues around caring for a loved one including; what care options are available, assistive technology, disability and mobility aids, modifications that can be made in the home, care funding, accessing legal and financial advice, local and national care charities and not for profit organisations as well as local support and friendship groups.
Phil Miles, Director of Bluebird Care Hook & Kingsclere, said,
“We are thrilled to be able to provide this new, exciting and worthwhile facility for the local community. We hope the Bluebird Care Hub will be a great help to families wanting more information about care options and the vital services provided by local charities and organisations working with and on behalf of older people.”
The Care Hub is a joint venture between the Bluebird Care offices in Kingsclere and Newbury. Both providers offer a range of home and live in care services, whether that’s a weekly visit, round-the-clock live in care or anything in between, they help with your essential needs – leaving you to enjoy the life and level of independence you choose. They offer compassion, companionship, continuity and reliability. They’re by your side – to laugh, smile, listen, support and care. Bluebird Care home and live in care means keeping all the things that matter to you close at hand, in the environment you know and treasure. They simply add a trusted companion, by your side as often as you’d like.
Bluebird Care Hook & Kingsclere and Bluebird Care Newbury have a strong belief in supporting groups and charities working with older people and in 2016 they launched their first community grant scheme to provide funding for local charities working with older people. Six different grants have been allocated helping a range of projects since that time.
John Prendergast, Director of Bluebird Care Newbury commented;
“We are thrilled that Kit Malthouse can spare time from his busy work schedule to support our new venture. At Bluebird Care we have a strong belief in supporting the many charities and groups who offer such essential support to older members of our community. We hope the Bluebird Care Hub gives us the opportunity to continue this support and help with the important work they do”.
The Care Hub will be opened on Friday March 9th at 4pm. The address is 17 Plantagenet House, Kingsclere Business Park, RG20 4SW.
