Thames Valley Venus Awards 2018 Finalists Announcement

It was more than tea for two at the Santander Thames Valley Venus Awards 2018 Finalists Announcement, hosted by Newbury Racecourse on 17th April 2018.

At a splendid afternoon tea hosted at Newbury Racecourse on 17th April 2018, more than 100 guests from the local business community gathered to celebrate the Santander Thames Valley Venus Awards 2018 finalists who will be progressing to the next stage of these prestigious business awards.

Although only in their 2nd year, the Thames Valley Venus Awards have proved extremely popular, making the finalist selection process harder than ever. “We received more than 1,000 nominations and applications for the 15 award categories, which highlights the huge contribution that women in business are making to businesses in the Thames Valley Region,” said Venus Awards founder Tara Howard. Launched in November, participants have been whittled down to the Finalists stage through a combination of sponsor and public judging.

The Venus Awards – dubbed by Channel 4 as “The Working Women’s Oscars” – celebrate the vital contribution that women in business make to the local, regional, and national economy, and are unique in that anyone can nominate a friend, client or family member.

Santander are title sponsor for 2018, Cheryl Adams, Santander’s Regional Corporate Director and 2017 winner of Director of the Year said of their involvement,

“I am delighted that Santander is supporting the Thames Valley 2018 Venus Awards. It is a fantastic initiative with a prestigious and impressive following of inspiring businesswomen, and being a previous winner of a Venus Award, is one that is particularly close to my heart!”

Andrew Lean, Volkswagen Franchise Director at Marshall Volkswagen, said of their involvement as Associate Sponsor of the Awards this year,

“Marshall Volkswagen is delighted to be back as sponsor and supporter of the Thames Valley Venus Awards. We appreciate what women bring to our company in many different roles and we are continuously working to provide more opportunities. We are very proud to recognise the women in our own company, and proud to support the Venus Awards.”

The Santander Thames Venus Awards 2018 in association with Marshall Volkswagen and in partnership with The Breeze Radio will culminate in a Glamorous Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on 8th June 2018 at the Madejski Stadium in Reading.
