London Suite Hits Newbury

5th – 8th July

Murder, midlife dating, a heart-rending love triangle and comical back injuries are all a part of hotel life in London.  So it seems from London Suite, which is Newbury Dramatic Society’s summer production.  Written by Neil Simon as a spin off from the similarly themed movie California Suite, the play follows the fortunes of a succession of guests using the same suite in a plush London hotel.

The play is directed by long term NDS member Ian Martin, with a strong cast of twelve.  NDS Chair Mike Brook is delighted the production has attracted such support.  “This is the sort of play where there is scope to double up, but we’ve drawn enough actors to cast all the roles individually.  It’s a mix of established NDS members, some returning after a bit of a gap, and some brand new talent.

“Rehearsals are going well and we are all looking forward to performances at Hungerford, Hampstead Norreys, Stockcross and St John’s Church Newbury. Shows run from the 5th to 8th June

Newbury Dramatic Society is working with partners to provide high quality entertainment in the community.  The Friday performance of London Suite is in support of Newbury Riding for the Disabled and the Sunday show is in aid of Eastfield House Surgery Patients Association. Further details and tickets are available from www.newburydramaticsociety.com and from local outlets.
