Heather House gets new gym equipment

Local occupational health provider Trident Medical Services (TMS) chose SeeAbility as its charity of the year for September 2017 to August 2018 and set itself a target of raising £7,000 for its Heather House Residential Nursing Home in Tadley. TMS exceeded its target and raised a total of £10,615.94.

SeeAbility’s Heather House facility in Tadley supports 16 young people with life-limiting conditions, including a rare disease called juvenile Batten Disease. It is the only residential service of its kind in the UK. Heather House urgently needed some new gym equipment to help provide much-needed physiotherapy services to the young severely disabled residents.

Lindsay Heath, Marketing and Communications Manager and the Charity Co-ordinator for TMS says: “We raised the funds via a variety of activities; including raffles, sweepstakes, bake sales and sponsored walks. All the funds we raised as staff were matched by TMS. In addition, TMS made donations every time our staff hit one of our corporate objectives and also every time a customer filled in a feedback form. We’re thrilled to have exceeded our target by this much to support the residents and staff of Heather House.”

Fiona Penfold, Managing Director at TMS says “As part of our corporate social responsibility policy we chose to partner with SeeAbility, giving us a great opportunity to support a local charity though fundraising and make a positive impact in the local community. The team at Heather House does amazing work to support these young people and their families and give them quality of life, care and support. We’re delighted to have been able to raise this money for them.”

Lisa Hopkins, Chief Executive of SeeAbility says “We’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received from TMS. Corporate partnerships such as this make a real difference to the people we support. If you would like to find out how your business and SeeAbility could work together, please get in touch.”
