Top 5 beaches in the UK
BY BUZZ
While the beaches in the Bahamas may seem alluring, with their picturesque scenery and bright blue seas, it’s hard to imagine that the beaches in the UK may not be able to compare. You would be wrong.
So why go abroad when you can enjoy the wonders that UK’s beaches have to offer.
Here are just some of the beaches you can enjoy.
Studland beach: Dorset
Located in Dorset, this beach is the one for those who prefer the original “natural” fool beach. Three miles of picture perfect sand which is seated behind a nature reserve. Whether you want to work on that golden tan or bring the whole family down for a barbeque, this is the place to come.
Three Cliffs Bay: South Wales
The beach is secluded from the road and mostly used by those who stay at the camp-ground nearby but its still a sight worth seeing. It provides some of the best views of the Gower Peninsula and there’s 52 acres of cliffs to explore. This is the beach for those who love a challenge. Watch out on the way down to the beach from the train though, it’s a little steep!
Torquay: Devon
The first thing which immediately springs to mind when I hear the name Torquay, is John Cleese hitting his little red car with a stick. Yes Torquay, home of the original Fawlty Towers. However Torquay has moved on since those days.
Today it is known as destination for those who love food and it is home to two Michelin star restaurants.
Along with splendid villas and palm laden promenades, this is a fantastic destination to come to. But don’t let it fool you, there’s still plenty of the old charm that Torquay is famous for to go around for everyone.
Holkham: Norfolk
Not entirely well known as the holiday destination we all cry out for, but its changing its image.
Holkham beach is the perfect spot for those who want to sunbathe, or have a little party with friends and enjoy a fantastic picnic, this is where you want to be.
For those equine lovers out there, there’s horseback riding and riding up and down the beach is a wonderful pleasure that the whole family can enjoy.
St Martin’s: Isles of Scilly
A little out of the way for some they might say, but rest assured St Martin’s is not to be missed. It’s just a twenty minute walk from the quay with picturesque walks surrounding the beach. Not to mention the perfect white sands and blue waters which you would only expect to find in the Caribbean.
This is also one of the best snorkel locations so those of who you love to swim underwater, this is where you to come.
