John Lewis announces new manager
BY BUZZ
Dominic Joyce is to be the first manager of the John Lewis at home shop in Newbury’s Parkway when it opens in spring this year.
Dominic, 35, will be incharge of the overall success of the new shop and will also be responsible for the 180 members of staff working there.
Despite the new role Dominic is not a stranger to John Lewis, having worked in several roles in the company since he left school 17 years ago. Dominic joined as an A-level trainee and quickly progressed to senior management positions. Not only does Dominic know John Lewis well, he is also a local to Newbury where he has lived most of his life.
Dominic commented on his new position saying ”I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunities this new role will bring. The Parkway is a great shopping centre with an extensive retail offer.”
He added “I’m really looking forward to working with the other retailers, both on the Parkway and on Northbrook Street to make Newbury an even better and more exciting place to shop.”
The shop will join others which have already opened in Newbury’s new Parkway shopping centre, which opened at the end of last year. The shop will focus on furniture, homeware and electrical technology. Computer terminals in the branch will allow shoppers to browse a wider range of John Lewis products including fashion, beauty and carpets and the shop will also feature a café.
