A selection of works by the Hampshire-based artist Julia Cassels will be on display in an exciting exhibition held at The Frame, in Odiham. The exhibition, which runs from 16th until 30th April 2012, is the latest event to be held at the gallery which regularly showcases works by talented local artists. An exclusive private viewing evening will be held on Friday 20th April from 6pm onwards which uniquely will include a demonstration by the artist herself.
Julia Cassels has painted since she was a child, but it was her move to Africa at the age of 20 that proved inspirational for her work. She was not only captivated by the rich colours, shapes and rhythms of Africa, but also developed a fascination and love of wildlife.
This is still a constant theme in her work today for which she is well-known. Julia’s paintings reflect her infinite understanding of the spirit of her subjects which she portrays with a natural fluidity.
Jan Baker, gallery owner, says: “I am delighted that The Frame will be exhibiting works by the brilliant Julia Cassels. Her paintings portray an intimate understanding of her subjects which I’m sure our visitors will appreciate and admire.
“At The Frame we pride ourselves on hosting exceptional exhibitionsfeaturing talented artists. We are looking forward to welcoming new and returning visitors, and hope they enjoy all that our gallery has to offer.”
